We created CHIBET because planning a trip to Tibet can be difficult when you are looking at it from outside the region. The questions are often practical: How do I enter Tibet? Which gateway city should I use? Should I take the train or fly? How much time should I allow for altitude? Which route actually fits my trip?

The name CHIBET comes from China + Tibet. For many international travelers, the Tibet journey starts before Lhasa — in Chengdu, Xining, Beijing, Xi'an or Shanghai. We help you look at that whole journey, not only the days you spend in Tibet.
